Tamworth Borough Council are inviting all music lovers to the Assembly Rooms for an evening of live local music on Thursday 27 June.
The evening will feature a fantastic line-up of great local artists spanning various musical genres, this will be a celebration of the incredibly strong Tamworth Music scene and a great showcase for some brilliant musical talent.
Artists will include singer-songwriter Sarah Riches, as she makes her debut at Tamworth Assembly Rooms with her 7-piece band The Dreamcatchers, for an evening of live country music. Sarah will be performing songs from her current album ‘I Don't Give Up Easily’, which was recorded and produced in Nashville by legendary producer Fred Mollin.
Fred Mollin discovered her voice and music, which ranges from country pop to bluesy reflection. Mollin has worked with artists such as Jimmy Webb, Billy Ray Cyrus, Vince Gill, Lyle Lovett, Kris Kristofferson, and Joe Cocker, and more than half of the musicians that played on Sarah's album are regular artists at The Grand Ole Opry.
Sarah was a finalist in the 2023 UK Country Radio.com awards in three categories: UK Country Album of the Year, UK Female Country Singer of the Year, UK Country Artist of the Year, and also a finalist recently in the 2023 British Country Music Association (BCMA) Awards in the Best Female Performer category.
Tom McLoughlin and Sheena Vultaggio are a singer songwriter duo based in Tamworth. They have a passion for emotional folk and americana songs, who love to bring their voices together in harmony to sing a mixture of classics and original material. They have published their own songs and played at venues across the midlands for many years.
A performer well-known at the Assembly Rooms, Bryan Brindley, returns with his acoustic set of original songs and covers of popular tunes from across the decades.
Influences include songwriters like The Beatles, Neil Finn of Crowded House, Noel Gallagher and Brian Wilson.
Bryan is a regular performer at various venues in the borough and surrounding areas and is a popular act at the Summer Bandstand concerts in the Tamworth Castle Grounds. In 2022 he played on the Commonwealth Stage which was situated in the Castle Grounds. He has also supported T'Pau when they came to town in 2021 and earlier this year, he opened for Toploader and Chesney Hawkes at the Assembly Rooms.
