Tamworth Borough Council are inviting established, new and early-stage businesses, to join their monthly business support event programme for 2024.
These new monthly events offer a variety of free advice and support from business experts and partners, with opportunities to learn more about free help and grants available to Tamworth based businesses.
Events will include:
Breakfast Launch
Wednesday 7 February - 8am – 10am at the Tamworth Assembly Rooms.
Meet a variety of experts offering free business advice and grants from partners including South Staffordshire College offering details on skills support and apprenticeships; Chambers of Commerce detailing their offer of start up support and established business networking, plus many more business providers.
Manage your Money
Thursday 8 February - 10am-12 noon. Online workshop to help businesses manage their finances effectively.
Sustainability
Tuesday 5 March - 10am-12 noon. Face to face event offering support with developing a decarbonisation plan.
People and Resources
Thursday 21 March - 10am-12 noon. Meet Lynda Goncalves for support on how to employ the right people resources.
TikTok for Business
Thursday 11 April - 10am-12 noon. Online event with Katherine George helping companies understand if TikTok is right for their business.
Net-Walking
Wed 8 May - 8am-10am. Join the business hub for walk around the town to network and learn about the history of key town centre sites.
Artificial Intelligence
Wed 8 May - 10am-12 noon. Join this event at the Tamworth Enterprise Centre where Chris Williams will help you use AI to save time and money.
Social Media Content
Thursday 6 June - 10am-12 noon. Online event with Rachael Dines demonstrating how to create a content plan.
Instagram Reels
Thursday 4 July - 10am-12 noon. Online workshop with Rachael Dines demonstrating how to create a reel for your business Instagram account.
Startup Requirements
Thursday 12 September - 10am-12 noon. Online event with Sarah Hall guiding you through the basics of starting up a business.
Young Entrepreneurs
September (date to be confirmed). An in-person support session for young people in Tamworth thinking of starting a business.
End of year webinars
November 2024. Three webinars are planned to help business stand out on social media and drive footfall.

All these events are aimed at helping local businesses grow, with the help of fully funded, practical support, and the opportunity to join the free ‘Get Started and Grow’ and ‘Ignite – Tamworth Start-up Support programme.
‘Get Started and Grow’ offers small businesses from pre-startup to five years old, funded packages of support in marketing, social media, HR, finance and legal advice.

Ignite - Tamworth Start-up Support package, is delivered by Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce and is made up of free advice, workshops, mentoring and support to help people who want to start out on their own and set up a business in the Tamworth area. More details here: [email protected].
Anyone looking to start their own business will be able to access support including:
- Enterprise Workshops
- Access to the Ignite Platform
- One2Three Club – Networking and Advice session for businesses in their first 1-3 years of trading
- Accelerator Sessions – Online workshops
- Signposting to wider business support – links to funding wider business growth programmes.
The Staffordshire Growth hub will be available to discuss mentoring support, help with business planning, sourcing funding, and ways to make your business more sustainable and cost effective with their brokerage to the Green Solutions programme running in Staffordshire.
The events are supported by UK Shared Prosperity Fund, a government incentive that supports eligible businesses.
